What is the visa waiver?

If you are Spanish and you come in 45 days or less, or you are chilean or panamanian, and come 90 days or less I give you a very good news: you don’t need a visa!
You can enter Vietnam without doing any kind of processing prior. Once you arrive at the border, the police officer will stamp the passport with the date of departure.
✅ Day of exemption is counted from the time of entry to Vietnam until the moment of departure from the country (that is to say, the journey by plane to the country or back to your country do not count).
Requirements for the exemption of visa:
- To have a ticket out of the country before the deadline. You must carry a ticket out in physical or electronic formats to show that you’re not going to stay longer than the duration of your waiver. is Not required in 100% of cases, but it is something we are often asked to the travelers. You can buy a bus ticket to Cambodia in the page Baolau or reservar a ticket for 48 hours to your name by approximately€ 14 in this page to test your output.
- Passport with at least 6 months of validezUn passport valid for at least six months before your expiration date on the date of entry into Vietnam, with at least two blank pages. If your passport expires in less than 6 months, you must renew to be able to enter Vietnam.
How many times can I use the visa waiver?
You can use the exemption as many times as you need. , For example, you can spend a week in Vietnam, to visit another country, and to re-use the waiver to enter and stay for another 45 days.
Do I have to wait 30 days between the 2 uses of the visa waiver?

In the past it was required that there be an interval of 30 days between the 2 uses of the visa waiver. This requirement of a 30-day waiting was removed on 1 July 2020, when it entered into force the new law of immigration. Therefore, it is not necessary to wait 30 days between entry and entry.
The portal of immigration of the government of Vietnam stated that: “The Law, […] in force since 1 July 2020 […] has been removed from the requsitio that there should be an interval of 30 days between the date of entry and date of exit earlier.”
On some pages out-of-date still says you have to wait 30 days to be able to use the visa waiver for the second time. My recommendation is that travelers consult official sources, or websites that have been updated after the pandemic.
My personal experience in the summer of 2022

During the summer of 2022, I traveled with my father for Vietnam and Cambodia. My father went to Vietnam with visa exemption and, after 10 days in the country, so we went to Cambodia. After 4 days in Cambodia we flew back to Vietnam, and my father used the visa waiver to enter for the second time. This way I could see first hand that it is not necessary to wait 30 days between two uses of the visa waiver.
What travel insurance is compulsory?

Although not a requirement of entry, come with a travel insurance hired is highly recommended. If during the trip you experience flight cancellations, loss of baggage, accident or a health problem, you’ll be glad you hired a good insurance. I recommend HeyMondo to be the insurance that today offers, in my opinion, the best quality price. If you go to the page of HeyMondo through the link, you’ll get an additional 5% discount to any other promotion currently in force in the web.
